Email Security Verification
Learn how email security verification works and what to do if your email gets flagged during signup.
Galaxy uses automated security checks to protect the platform from bots and fraudulent accounts. When you sign up and verify your email, our system analyzes it automatically to score the risk level. If your email shows characteristics that match fraud patterns we monitor for, it gets flagged for manual review. This doesn't mean you did anything wrong, just that your email needs additional verification.
How Email Security Checks Work
Galaxy runs automated security checks on all new signups to protect the platform. These checks happen automatically after you verify your email address.
No human looks at your account unless you request support or your email is flagged. Our security system analyzes hundreds of different signals about your email address and domain to calculate a risk score. If the score exceeds our threshold, your account gets flagged for review.
If you're a legitimate user with a real email address, our support team can help you gain access. Being flagged doesn't mean you did anything wrong.
What Galaxy's Security System Analyzes
We evaluate your email address using publicly available data. Here's what we examine:
- Email deliverability: Is your inbox real and active? Can messages actually reach it?
- Domain reputation: How old is your email domain? Does it have proper authentication records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)? Is it linked to known spam or fraud activity?
- Email type: Whether you're using a free provider (Gmail), a private domain (yourcompany.com), or a disposable service (Tempmail).
- Tagged addresses: Does your email include a
+tag likeuser+signup@gmail.com? These are commonly used to create multiple accounts from a single inbox.
- Role-based addresses: Is your email a generic role address (hello@, support@, info@, admin@, noreply@) rather than a personal one?
- Unusual patterns: Does your address contain random numbers, gibberish text, or patterns bots typically use?
- Risk scoring: All these signals combine into a risk score. If the score exceeds our threshold, we flag your account for manual verification.
Automatically Blocked Email Types
These email types cannot be used on Galaxy:
- Disposable emails: Temporary services like Tempmail, Guerrilla Mail, or 10 Minute Mail
- Tagged emails: Any address with a
+tag (likeyourname+galaxy@gmail.com) - Role-based emails: Generic addresses like hello@, support@, info@, admin@, or noreply@
If you used any of these, you need to create a new Galaxy account with a personal email from an established provider.
If Your Email Was Flagged
If you're a legitimate user and your email got flagged, contact our support team. We'll review your account manually and help restore your access.
When you reach out, include:
- Your Galaxy username
- The email address you used to sign up
Our team has access to the specific reasons your email was flagged. They can explain exactly what triggered the security check and help you move forward.
Why Legitimate Emails Get Flagged
Real, honest users sometimes trigger our security system. None of these reasons mean you're doing anything wrong:
- New or unusual email domain: Recently registered domains or those without complete authentication records score higher on our risk scale.
- Free email provider: While most Gmail and Yahoo addresses are fine, some free providers see higher fraud rates. This alone won't flag you, but it factors into the overall assessment.
- Tagged email address: Email addresses with
+tags (likeuser+something@gmail.com) are blocked automatically because they're commonly used for creating multiple accounts.
- Role-based email address: Generic role addresses (like
support@yourcompany.comorinfo@yourcompany.com) are blocked because they're typically shared inboxes, not personal accounts.
- Email address patterns: Lots of numbers, unusual characters, or random-looking strings can resemble bot-generated addresses.
- VPN or proxy usage: Connections from IP addresses associated with VPNs, proxies, or data centers add to your risk score.
- Shared network issues: Sometimes your IP address or network has been used for suspicious activity by others, which affects your assessment.
Our system weighs all these factors together. A single warning doesn't automatically reject your account; the combination triggers verification.
Common Questions
I'm a legitimate user. Why is this happening to me?
Security systems aren't perfect. They're designed to catch as many fraudulent signups as possible while keeping friction low for real users. Sometimes legitimate accounts share characteristics with risky ones. Contact our support team and we'll review your account and help you get access.
Can I find out exactly why I was flagged?
Yes. Our support team has access to the specific signals that triggered your flag. When you reach out, they'll explain what happened and answer your questions.
My email is from a reputable provider. Why was I flagged?
Our security check looks beyond just your email provider. Your specific email address, domain configuration, IP address, and other signals all contribute to the overall assessment. Even accounts with Gmail or other major providers can be flagged if other signals raise concerns.
I used a disposable or temporary email. What now?
Disposable and temporary email addresses are automatically blocked. Create a new Galaxy account using a permanent email address from an established provider like Gmail, Outlook, or your company domain.
I used a tagged email (with a + sign). What now?
Tagged emails like yourname+galaxy@gmail.com are blocked because they're commonly used to create multiple accounts. Create a new Galaxy account using your base email address without the + tag.
I used a role-based email (like support@ or info@). What now?
Role-based emails are blocked because they're typically shared rather than personal accounts. Create a new account using a personal email address tied to an individual person.
Can I use a different email address?
Yes. If your current email was flagged, create a new Galaxy account with a different email. Use a personal email from an established provider with proper authentication records. Avoid disposable services, tagged addresses, and role-based emails, as these are blocked automatically.
Is my data safe during this process?
Absolutely. We only analyze publicly available information about your email address and domain. We never access your inbox, read your messages, or collect personal data beyond what's necessary for account verification.
How long until I get access after contacting support?
Our support team responds quickly. Once they verify you're a legitimate user, access is restored promptly. Include your Galaxy username and email address to speed things up.
Why We Do This
Fraudulent accounts create real problems for cloud platforms. Bots and bad actors abuse free tiers, consume resources, and create security risks for everyone. By verifying accounts proactively, we keep Galaxy safe and reliable for users like you.
This isn't about making signup harder. It's about protecting the platform everyone depends on.
