Supported Regions

The Galaxy Databases offer is available in the following regions:

• VIR (Virginia, USA)
• FRA (Frankfurt, Germany)
• SYD (Sydney, Australia)

Redis Versions

The Galaxy Databases offer supports the following Redis versions:

• Redis 7.2.5
• Redis 7.0.15

Here are the plan types you can choose from:

Storage Management

The disk size indicated above represents the total disk capacity of the underlying machine. However, a portion of this capacity is allocated for the operating system installation.

We make concerted efforts to prevent "disk full" scenarios that could jeopardize the health of the cluster. Therefore, the customer will:

• Receive an initial email alert when the cluster's storage capacity reaches 80%.
• Receive a subsequent email alert when the cluster's storage capacity reaches 90%.
• Experience their database instance being transitioned into "read-only" mode once the storage capacity reaches its limit. In this mode, no further write operations can be performed.

Disk Type

Here in Galaxy Databases, we use SSD NVMe drives, which are high-performance solid-state drives optimized for rapid data access. They offer low latency and high transfer speeds, making them ideal for applications requiring superior performance.

Backup Policies

Backup Types

1. General Backup

• Automatic daily backups
• Retention period: 4 days
• No additional cost

2. Custom Backup

• Automatic daily backups
• Retention period: Customizable
• Additional cost for extra days

General Backup Details

• All databases include automatic backup with 4-day retention at no extra cost.

Custom Backup Details

• For retention beyond 4 days, a fee of US$ 0.06 per GB per additional day applies.

Calculation Example

For a 10 GB backup with an extended retention of 12 additional days:

Cost = (Rate per GB/day) × (Backup size) × (Additional days)

Cost = US$ 0.06 × 10 GB × 12 days Cost = US$ 7.20 per month

Request and Billing

1. Customers can request extended retention:

• Via customer support
• Through the admin panel

2. The additional cost will be reflected in the next billing cycle.

Notes

• The retention period starts counting from the day the backup is created.
• Backups are executed daily, typically between 03:00 and 05:00 UTC. Should the customer wish to modify the backup window, they may contact us via chat to request an alternative schedule.
• It's recommended to regularly review your backup needs to optimize costs and data security

Logs and Metrics

Logs and metrics can be accessed through the Galaxy Database. Soon, you will be able to connect your observability tools to capture metrics and logs.

• Log Retention: Up to 10,000 lines of logs are retained.
• Metrics Retention: Metrics are retained for one calendar month.

Please note that if the database instance is deleted, both logs and metrics are automatically removed.
